Creating understanding, dignity, and real-world support for neurodivergent people across workplaces, education, and home.

Neurodiversity UK exists to make life easier, kinder, and more inclusive for neurodivergent people at work, in education, and at home. I support workplaces, schools, universities, parents, and neurodivergent individuals with practical, down-to-earth training and guidance so that people aren’t just “accommodated”, they’re genuinely understood, valued, and able to thrive.

Why This Work Matters

If you’ve ever had to fight for support, explain your child over and over again, or sit in meetings where no one really “gets” it  you’re not alone. My work is rooted in lived experience of navigating systems that weren’t designed with neurodivergent people in mind.

I know what it feels like to:

  • Push for assessments, adjustments, and understanding
  • Try to translate behaviour into needs, not “problems”
  • Worry about your child’s future, school experience, or job security
  • Want to do better as an employer or educator, but not know where to start

Neurodiversity UK was created to close that gap between good intentions and real, practical change.

Over the next few years, my goal is simple but ambitious:

To become a trusted voice for neuro-inclusive practice across the UK and to train thousands of people in how to support neurodivergent individuals with dignity, understanding, and confidence.

That starts with three core areas:

  1. Workplaces – Helping organisations build cultures where neurodivergent employees can work in ways that suit their brains, not just “fit in” to old systems.
  2. Education – Empowering teachers, support staff, and leaders to create genuinely inclusive classrooms where differences are expected, accepted, and supported.
  3. Home & Families – Guiding parents and carers through the education system, helping them advocate effectively, and giving them tools to support their child without burning out themselves.

My Promise.

To make the world more neuro-inclusive one workplace, one classroom, one family at a time.
With clarity. Compassion. And real-world solutions that work.

 Founder Angela Beattie

I’m Angela a lecturer, educator, trainer, and mum of three boys. My journey to creating Neurodiversity UK has been anything but linear, but every chapter has shaped the work I do today. What I teach comes from lived experience, professional expertise, and years of standing beside neurodivergent young people, families, and educators who just needed someone to understand.

For over 15 years, I co-founded and ran an education company called Education Plus. We supported young people who weren’t in mainstream education students who learned differently, thought differently, and often felt misunderstood or overlooked. Over the years, I trained a team of 26 teachers in inclusive practice and behaviour support, helping them build learning environments where every young person felt safe, seen, and capable. That work showed me what real inclusion looks like: not ticking boxes, but building trust, understanding, and connection.

After relocating as a single parent with my three boys to the South coast. I moved into teaching in further education and trained over 100 teachers in 'Initial Teacher Training with a focus on learning differences and behaviour management. And now I lecture at a local university. There, I specialise in developing and delivering Neurodiversity Micro-credentials for staff and the wider community, helping organisations understand what meaningful inclusion actually looks like day-to-day.

Neurodiversity UK brings all of this together education, wellbeing, and lived experience into one mission: a more neuro-inclusive future.
